‘Axis’ for November 21, 2021

You can try believing in magic or you can accept reason. You cannot have both. Make a choice and live your life. Memento mori. I am a Stoic. Symbolism be damned. Life is short — eat the pizza. Have great sex and listen to all of the music in this world that you can possibly find. Eat the pizza (even though it’s not gluten-free) and just always remember ‘memento mori.’ You will be dead some day in the future. Be sure to die with memories and not regrets. Be sure to drink a hell of a lot of coffee (it’s the ‘magic elixir of life’) and be kind to your neighbor. Learn to give — it’s a notion that does not come naturally. You must learn to be a giver. Speak the truth and never let duplicity weasel its way into your life. Be honest — both with yourself and all of the others you meet in this world. Honesty reigns supreme in my daily life. As a cartoonist, I strive every fucking day to simply be honest and live an honest, truthful life. Do not chase after ‘relevance.’ Instead, seek Purpose. Relevance is obscenely overrated. Purpose drives a man. Men were not created to be ‘comfortable.’ Men were created for achievement. DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR LIFE! Easy is boring — hard is interesting. Make the choice every day to do the difficult stuff of this life. It’s more fun and it rewards you with far better memories. Be a man — a TOTAL MAN. That means habitually doing the hard stuff and heavy lifting of society. It’s your duty. Ignore the mob. Routinely say “piss off” to the fucking ‘mob.’ They’re asinine, anyway. Stay the hell away from banality. BE ORIGINAL! Once again, LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR. It’s not a ‘suggestion.’ It’s a commandment. We are commanded to LOVE. Everyone. Unconditionally. Rock on. Stay Stoic.
